The Maryland Heights Sunday Experience

We hope you feel welcome at Maryland Heights, and no one is going to single you out or ask you to stand up.  You set your level of participation with our Sunday worship.  Here are some things you can expect:

Family: Maryland Heights is a Church family.  After worship, we hope you will stick around so we can get to know you!  We don’t care where you’ve come from or what your past has been; we want everyone to know that God has a place for them in His family.  And we care about your family – we have activities & programs for your children during worship, from newborns through 5th grade.

Singing Together: We sing a capella, which means to sing without instrumental accompaniment. There is something amazing about hearing everyone’s voices together as we give praise to our Father as a family. We sing from a diverse library of songs, old and new, and the lyrics and music to each song is projected onto screens so everyone can sing together.

Our Lord’s Supper: The center of our worship service revolves around having table fellowship with each other and God as a family.  During this time, plates containing crackers are passed throughout the auditorium.  The bread/cracker symbolizes the body of Jesus as He sacrificed Himself on the cross.  We will break off a piece of bread, eat it and meditate on His broken body as we pass the tray to the next participant.  Next, trays filled with individual cups are passed.  The cups contain grape juice symbolizing the blood of Jesus.  We each drink the contents of one cup and replace the cup in the tray and reflect on the forgiveness God offers us through the blood of Jesus as we pass the tray to the next person.

Our Offering: We give out of gratitude for the generous blessings God has given us to further His work through the ministries we support. We have made commitments to do this as a family and do not ask our guests to give.

Time in the Word: We also love to study together as a family.  Our preaching minister will present a sermon from God’s Word to challenge us to reflect Christ as a family.

We Want to Pray for You: Our family believes in the power of prayer. During the service you will have a chance to fill out a card, and there is a place for you to list any requests you would like us to bring to God on your behalf.  We ask you put those cards in the offering baskets as they are passed.

We hope to see you Sunday!
