Camp Ne-O-Tez Annual Dinner is Friday, March 30th. The theme is “Possibilities”. A fellowship time and silent auction begins at 6:15 pm with dinner at 7:00 pm Cost is $12.50 per person. Terrill Hall will share with us his the story of how summers at Ne-O-Tez changed his life! Loation: McKnight Crossings Gym. Church of Christ Day at the Ballpark

You can experience Cardinal baseball and at the same time help out CFS, Camp Ne-O-Tez and the Christian Academy. Church of Christ Day at the ballpark is Saturday , April 28th. The Cardinals will be playing the Brwers with time to be determined. Tickets must be reserved and paid for no later than April 1st. You may reserve and pay through JD. Tickets are $22 each. This is a game where everyone is a winner!

Timothy Can Campaign: Because of the increase in services in ’11, the Timothy Fund has been nearly depleted. CFS has set a goal to raise $28,000. Please take a can today and take it home and fill it with change (bills and checks work also) between now and Father’s Day. Our small change can make a big difference for CFS and the children they serve

CFS Celebration of Marriage Evening

CFS Celebration of Marriage Evening is Saturday, February 11^th from 6 – 9 pm. It is at Eden Seminary. Join other couples and friends from the St. Louis area for an evening to celebrate love and marriage. There will be dinner, games and a special recognition to our “Heart of CFS Marriage Award” recipients. The cost is $40 per couple. Dress up for the evening! Seating is limited so you must register by February 4^th. You can purchase your tickets by calling CFS at 314-968-2216.

Have a Heart for our Community Pancake Breakfast

Our Annual “Have a Heart” for our Community Pancake Breakfast is Sunday, February 12^th. We will be serving pancakes, sausage, bacon, juice and coffee. Admission is a bag (at least) of groceries per family. Breakfast will be served from 9:15 – 10:00 am. Some needed grocery items are: jelly, spaghetti sauce and noodles, soups, canned meats, canned fruit, pancake mix and syrup, macaroni and cheese, breakfast cereal (hot and cold). Food donated will be given to Community Helping Ministries.

Ever find yourself reading Scripture and finding the Bible isn’t relating to the times? What does it have to say about a 21st century culture like America? Where does it deal with the fears of nuclear war, terrorism, tsunamis and hurricanes? Where does it give me the hope to make it through a financial recession, er, depression?

If you’ve asked these questions, our sermon series in January and February is for you! We continue our look at Paul’s letter to the Christians in Ephesus -and his call for them to illuminate a dark world. We’ll spend the first 2 months of 2012 looking at chapter 5 of this inspired book, looking for ways we can have the courage and strength to…illuminate!

Cookie Social – December 18th

Our Annual Cookie Social is Sunday, December 18th. We will begin immediately after morning worship with a His Signers performance. We will share lunch, cookies, Santa, games and a holiday sing-a-long. Members are asked to bring their favorite appetizer and a batch of their favorite holiday cookies or candy to share! It’s a great way to spend some time during the holiday season together.

Mitten Tree and Adopt a Child

We are once again partnering with Community Helping Ministries in our adopt a child program. All tags were quickly taken and gifts are beginning to arrive. Gifts are to be returned by December 7th – tagged and unwrapped. We also have the mitten tree where mittens, scarves, hats, gloves and socks can be hung on her branches through December 7th.

Give Thanks Dinner – November 16th

We have so much to be thankful for! Let’s take some time on November 16th to join together for a Give Thanks Dinner. Dinner will begin at 6:00 pm followed by Wednesday evening classes. This will be a potluck style meal with each family asked to provide a main dish and a side dish or dessert. Rolls and Drinks will be provided. Kitchen help to prepare drinks and bake rolls is needed at 5 pm. (The oven will be in use so please plan accordingly with your dishes you prepare). There is a sign up list on the small bulletin board in the foyer.

Sermon Series: Nov & Dec

Ever get out of bed and the first thing you notice are those achy knees? Ever reached for something on the top shelf and next thing you knew you were on the ground screaming because a disc in your back decided to slip out? Joints are daily reminders of how fragile our bodies are. All it takes is one flare up, twisting the wrong way, one wrong turn on the basketball court -and the life of the entire body can be altered for significant time.

Can’t we say the same about the Church (aka, the Body of Christ)? Everything can be moving right along and then, slip! -and the entire Church feels it for a year. The effects can be permanent, the inflammation can trickle into all parts of the body and into homes. Joints (those areas where we meet up…we refer to them as ‘relationships’) in the Body of Christ are serious and need to be treated with special care.

That’s why Paul spends Ephesians 4:25-32 diagnosing the problems, giving the remedy, and the motivators to get those joints working correctly. Because he knows if the joints aren’t properly aligned -how will the Body ever go anywhere?
